The Heart of the Old Town
Spianada Square is the largest and liveliest square in Greece, centrally located in Corfu’s Old Town.
It was formed during the Venetian period and developed further with French and British influences. Its name comes from the Italian “spianare,” meaning to flatten.
Surrounded by the Liston arcade, the Old Fortress, the Museum of Asian Art, and the famous cricket field, it offers a blend of elegance and Mediterranean vibrancy.
A Lively Square Full of History & Events
Spianada is the epicenter of cultural and social life in Corfu. It often hosts local bands, parades and celebrations, especially during Easter and summer.
It’s perfect for walks, photography, relaxing or enjoying a coffee in one of the historical cafés nearby.
Located just 20 minutes from Skafonas Apartments, it’s ideal for afternoon or evening strolls through the Old Town.
